Learning to Eat Again - My Liquid Diet Weight Loss

The goal is to have a plan. I used to going out to eat multiple times during the week, and that’s got to stop. I have “clean my plate” syndrome, and let’s face it – restaurant portions are huge. I don’t want to avoid restaurants totally, because I have to relearn to eat again, along with making better choices.

I had my first chance this week, and ordered a salad. I asked them not to put any ham or cheese on the salad, and I brought my own lite salad dressing with me. It still came out in a fried tortilla shell…. :\

I picked at my salad and only ate the cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, onions, turkey and hard boiled eggs. It was okay — I ate 1/3 of it, and knew to stop when I was satisfied – pushing it away from me when I reached that point. No need to feel “FULL” as in stuffed. I ate until I’d had enough to nourish me….

I did good. I even woke up to a drop on the scale. Now restaurants don’t have to scare me….

The other thing we’ll be doing is adding in new ways to spend time together. We’ll eat at home then go for a walk, instead of going out to eat as a way to hang out together.

One day at a time. One meal at a time. One pound at a time. Baby steps.
